DETROIT DELTAS HELP FIGHT CORONAVIRUS
So much has changed in our world over these last few weeks! We are now challenged with a global pandemic and faced with many uncertainties and even anxiety about the future.
The Detroit Deltas are standing with our community as we weather this storm. In exercising great caution and concern for not only our chapter members, but for our program participants and attendees, we have cancelled most of our major events and activities for the remainder of the month, and will make a decision on future events using the most up-to-date information at the time.
Our Chaplain, Erica Hogan, shared a powerful word of prayer with the our chapter membership in recent days, during this challenging time, I thought it befitting to share with our friends and family:
Our nation is in an uproar; a panic, while experiencing this pandemic. In our human way of thinking, we should absolutely take precautions. In fact, Matthew instructs us to watch AND pray. We must be alert and aware while we seek your face. We pray now God that you step in and cover us. We rebuke the plan of the enemy! Your word says, “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”
Jesus told his disciples, “ Behold, I give you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over ALL the power of the enemy: and NOTHING shall by any means hurt you.” God we stand firm on our faith today that your word is true, it’s powerful, and it is life to us in this time of trouble.
Continue to shield and protect us oh God, as some of us still have to go out into the community. Give us wisdom to follow the guidelines that have been set for us by our leaders. We praise and bless your name because we KNOW that you are bigger than any sickness and mightier than any disease. You are THE ALMIGHTY GOD! We believe that you have heard the cries of your people.
We pray this fervent and heartfelt prayer in the MIGHTY and MATCHLESS name of JESUS. Amen!
